According to the recall the product may cause burn or scalding threats to consumers. The distributor of the Black & Decker® brand Spacemaker™ Coffeemakers is Applica Consumer Products Inc, based out of Miramar, Florida. The product is manufactured in China.
The product is was being sold at K-Mart, Kohl’s, Target, Wal-Mart, Bed, Bath & Beyond, and Amazon.com, from March 2006 through March 2009. The product sold for between $60-$70 dollars.

Campbell Hausfeld Recalls Air Compressors Due to Fire Hazard; Sold Exclusively at Wal-Mart
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: Campbell Hausfeld Air Compressors
Units: About 16,000
Importer: Campbell Hausfeld, of Harrison, Ohio
Hazard: The compressor’s thermal overload, which shuts the unit off when it overheats, can fail. This can lead to overheating, melting of parts and a risk of fire.
Incidents/Injuries: None reported.
Description: The recall involves the Campbell Hausfeld model HU200099AV air compressor with a 20-gallon tank. The recall includes date codes ranging from January 2009 through June 2009. The model number and date code can be located on the back of the tank.
Sold at: Wal-Mart stores nationwide from January 2009 through June 2009 for about $250.
Manufactured in: China
Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled air compressor and return it to any Wal-Mart for a full refund.

Viking Range Corporation Recalls Built-In Refrigerators Due to Injury Hazard; Doors Can Detach

Name of Product: Viking Built-In Side-by-Side Refrigerator/Freezers and Refrigerators with Bottom Freezers
Units: About 45,326
Manufacturer: Viking Range Corporation, of Greenwood, Miss.
Hazard: The refrigerator’s doors can detach, posing an injury hazard to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: Viking has received about 57 reports of doors detaching, including four reports of injuries involving bruises, broken toes/fingers, and strains. Also, several incidents of minor damage to floors and counters have been reported.
Description: This recall involves Viking built-in 48-inch wide side-by-side refrigerator/freezers and the built-in 36-inch wide refrigerators with bottom freezers with model and serial numbers with date codes listed below. The refrigerators come in stainless steel and various colors and wood finishes and are built into the kitchen cabinetry. “Viking” is written on the front of the refrigerator. The model and serial numbers are located either behind the produce drawer or on the ceiling of the interior of the refrigerators. The 42-inch wide or freestanding refrigerators are not included in this recall.

Hazard: The toaster oven can remain “on” after the toast pops up, posing a fire hazard.
Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received seven reports of the toaster remaining on after the toast popped up. No injuries have been reported.
Description: The recalled toasters have model #WPTOT010 with date codes 3608, 3908, 0407, 0607, or 0807 or model # BTOT0010 with date code 0207. The model numbers and date codes are located on an Underwriters Laboratories (UL) label, which is affixed to the back of the unit. The black and stainless steel toasters have “Wolfgang Puck” or “Wolfgang Puck Bistro Collection” stamped on the lower front right corner. They feature a stainless steel handle on the oven door, three black knobs for controlling cooking, and a black push-down lever for toasting. Two slots for toasting bread and similar products are located on the top of the toaster.
Sold by: Frontgate catalogs and HSN nationwide from March 2007 through March 2009 for about $100.

Home Depot Recalls Patio Umbrellas Due to Risk of Impact Injury
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: Offset Patio Umbrellas
Units: About 60
Importer: The Home Depot, of Atlanta, Ga.
Hazard: The patio umbrella and its pole could tip over and strike consumers if the umbrella’s collar or sleeve is not removed prior to closing the umbrella, posing a risk of impact injury to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: Home Depot has received one report of a recalled patio umbrella tipping over and breaking. No injuries have been reported.
Description: The patio umbrellas are beige with a brown offset pole. They stand 11 feet tall. The base is a brown cross about 18 inches long.
Sold at: The Home Depot stores nationwide from January 2009 through February 2009 for about $250.

Hazard: The pod drawer of the pod brewer can open unexpectedly during a brew cycle, posing a burn hazard to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: Bunn-O-Matic has received 10 reports of the drawer opening unexpectedly, including one report of minor burns.
Description: This recall involves Bunn® Single Pod Brewers. Models included in the recall are MCP (My Café Pourover) and MCA (My Café Automatic). The pod brewers have a black body with stainless backsplash and measure 12 inches high by 8 inches wide. “Bunn®” is printed on the front and lights up when the pod brewer is on.
Sold at: Web retailers, department and hardware stores nationwide between August 2004 and March 2009 for about $300.

Gothic Cabinet Craft Recalls Bunk Beds Due to Fall Hazard

Name of Product: Twin, Twin Extra-Large, and Twin Over Full Bunk Beds
Units: About 1,500
Manufacturer: Gothic Cabinet Craft Inc., of Maspeth, N. Y.
Hazard: The bunk beds do not have sufficient headboards, footboards, or guardrails and have gaps between parts of the upper bunk that could allow a child’s body to pass through but not a child’s head. These bunk beds pose a fall, entrapment, and strangulation hazard to children and violate the spacing requirements of the federal bunk bed safety standard.
Incidents/Injuries: None reported.
Description: Both metal and wooden bunk beds are being recalled. The bunk bed styles include dark oak and metal, solid pine, others come with six drawers as part of the base.
Sold by: Retail stores in the New York and New Jersey metropolitan area from June 2000 through October 2008 for between $225 and $850.

Composite Decks Recalled by Louisiana-Pacific; Decks Can Deteriorate and Break, Posing Fall Hazard
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: Composite Decks
Units: About 48 million linear feet (decks vary in size)
Manufacturer: Louisiana-Pacific (LP) Corp., of Nashville, Tenn.
Hazard: The recalled decking can prematurely deteriorate and unexpectedly break. Consumers can fall through broken decking and suffer serious injuries.
Incidents/Injuries: LP has received 37 reports of composite decks breaking, resulting in 14 injuries, including a broken wrist, sprained ankle, minor lacerations and bruises.
Description: The recall includes outdoor deck board and railings sold under the brand names LP WeatherBest®, ABTCo., and Veranda®. They are composite products that look similar to natural wood and were sold in various colors including Tuscan Walnut/Chestnut, Driftwood Grey/Greystone, Pacific Cedar and Western Redwood. Veranda decking products were manufactured by multiple firms; only products manufactured by LP are included in this recall.
Sold at: The Home Depot (Veranda® brand) and building product dealers (LP WeatherBest® and ABTCo. brands) nationwide from January 2005 to August 2008 for between $1.50 and $2.25 per linear foot.

Remedy: Consumers with the recalled decking should immediately contact LP for a free inspection. If the decking is affected by premature deterioration, LP will arrange for a free replacement.
