According to the recall the product may cause burn or scalding threats to consumers. The distributor of the Black & Decker® brand Spacemaker™ Coffeemakers is Applica Consumer Products Inc, based out of Miramar, Florida. The product is manufactured in China.
The product is was being sold at K-Mart, Kohl’s, Target, Wal-Mart, Bed, Bath & Beyond, and Amazon.com, from March 2006 through March 2009. The product sold for between $60-$70 dollars.

Units: About 530,000

Hazard: The grinder can fail to turn off or can turn on unexpectedly, posing a laceration hazard to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received 176 reports of grinders that failed to turn off or that turned on unexpectedly, including three reports of hand lacerations that occurred when the grinders turned on unexpectedly during cleaning.

Viking Range Corporation Recalls Built-In Refrigerators Due to Injury Hazard; Doors Can Detach
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: Viking Built-In Side-by-Side Refrigerator/Freezers and Refrigerators with Bottom Freezers
Units: About 45,326
Manufacturer: Viking Range Corporation, of Greenwood, Miss.
Hazard: The refrigerator’s doors can detach, posing an injury hazard to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: Viking has received about 57 reports of doors detaching, including four reports of injuries involving bruises, broken toes/fingers, and strains. Also, several incidents of minor damage to floors and counters have been reported.
Description: This recall involves Viking built-in 48-inch wide side-by-side refrigerator/freezers and the built-in 36-inch wide refrigerators with bottom freezers with model and serial numbers with date codes listed below. The refrigerators come in stainless steel and various colors and wood finishes and are built into the kitchen cabinetry. “Viking” is written on the front of the refrigerator. The model and serial numbers are located either behind the produce drawer or on the ceiling of the interior of the refrigerators. The 42-inch wide or freestanding refrigerators are not included in this recall.

The first six numbers in the serial number are the manufacture date of the unit in [mm][dd][yy] format, e.g., serial number 051903G0000000375 was manufactured on May 19, 2003 and serial number F01250210170 was manufactured on January 25, 2002.

Remedy: Consumers with recalled refrigerators should contact Viking immediately to schedule a free in-home repair. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled refrigerator if the door isn’t sealing properly, is sagging, or fails to open and close properly. If the door is functioning properly, consumers may continue to use the refrigerator until it has been repaired.

W.P. Appliances Inc. Recalls Wolfgang Puck Toaster Oven/Toasters
The following product safety recall was voluntarily conducted by the firm in cooperation with the CPSC. Consumers should stop using the product immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: Wolfgang Puck Toaster Oven/Toasters
Units: About 7,040
Importer: Frontgate of West Chester, Ohio and The Home Shopping Network (HSN) of St. Petersburg, Fla.
Manufacturer: Kingpower Electrical Appliances of China
Hazard: The toaster oven can remain “on” after the toast pops up, posing a fire hazard.
Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received seven reports of the toaster remaining on after the toast popped up. No injuries have been reported.
Description: The recalled toasters have model #WPTOT010 with date codes 3608, 3908, 0407, 0607, or 0807 or model # BTOT0010 with date code 0207. The model numbers and date codes are located on an Underwriters Laboratories (UL) label, which is affixed to the back of the unit. The black and stainless steel toasters have “Wolfgang Puck” or “Wolfgang Puck Bistro Collection” stamped on the lower front right corner. They feature a stainless steel handle on the oven door, three black knobs for controlling cooking, and a black push-down lever for toasting. Two slots for toasting bread and similar products are located on the top of the toaster.
Sold by: Frontgate catalogs and HSN nationwide from March 2007 through March 2009 for about $100.

Remedy: Consumers should stop using the recalled toaster/toaster ovens immediately and contact W.P. Appliances for instructions on returning the toaster/toaster ovens for a full refund. All known purchasers have been notified directly by mail.

Bunn-O-Matic Recalls Single Cup Tea/Coffeemakers Due to Burn Hazard

Name of Product: Bunn® Single Cup Pod Brewers
Units: About 35,600
Manufacturer: Bunn-O-Matic Corp., of Springfield, Ill.
Hazard: The pod drawer of the pod brewer can open unexpectedly during a brew cycle, posing a burn hazard to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: Bunn-O-Matic has received 10 reports of the drawer opening unexpectedly, including one report of minor burns.
Description: This recall involves Bunn® Single Pod Brewers. Models included in the recall are MCP (My Café Pourover) and MCA (My Café Automatic). The pod brewers have a black body with stainless backsplash and measure 12 inches high by 8 inches wide. “Bunn®” is printed on the front and lights up when the pod brewer is on.
Sold at: Web retailers, department and hardware stores nationwide between August 2004 and March 2009 for about $300.

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled coffeemakers and contact the firm to obtain two replacement pod drawers.

Name of Product: Bosch® and Siemens® Model Dishwashers
Units: About 476,500
Manufacturer: BSH Home Appliances Corp., of Huntington Beach, Calif.
Hazard: An electrical component in certain model dishwashers can overheat, posing a fire hazard to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: BSH Home Appliances has received 51 reports of incidents, including 30 reports of fires resulting in property damage. No injuries have been reported.
Description: This recall involves certain Bosch® and Siemens® dishwashers manufactured from May 1999 through July 2005. The brand name is printed on the dishwasher’s front control panel. Model and serials numbers are located inside the dishwasher door panel on the upper right side.

Viessmann U.S. Recalls Boilers Due to Fire Hazard

Name of Product: Vitodens 200 Boilers
Units: About 4,600
Manufacturer: Viessmann Manufacturing Co. Inc., of Canada
Hazard: The boiler can leak gas, posing a fire hazard to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: None reported.
Description: The recall involves the Vitodens 200 boiler. The gas-fired boilers are white, wall-mounted and have “Viessmann” and “Vitodens 200” printed on the exterior in silver letters. The model and serial numbers included in the recall are listed below. The model number is located on the silver rating plate on the side of the boiler. Contact your certified HVAC contractor to open the boiler and locate the serial number on a white label on the side of the boiler, or under the bottom support panel. Vitodens 100 boilers are not included in this recall.
